Reblogged this a couple of days ago… At first I just assumed it was by Lichtenstein, but upon further research, I found out—thanks to Google’s drag and drop function—that it’s actually by an Australian artist, Chris Booth, and it’s called “Ten Days of Perfect Tears.”

Distancing himself from the “high art” pop-art genre made famous by Warhol and Lichtenstein, Booth embraces the “low brow”. Describing his work as “Lichtenstein goes to Osaka”, the artist relives the art of Japanese anime, inspired by the “super-flat” movement led by artists such as Takashi Murakami.
